Top 10 Tips before unlocking your GSM Blackberry Safely, Cheaper & Quicker

1.Your GSM Blackberry can be unlocked - No matter what GSM model you have on any network, there is a 95% success rate using professional unlocking services to unlock your model. Just because you read that people cannot unlock your Blackberry, does not mean it cannot be done by anyone. Do more research as you did to get here and you will get it done. CDMA cannot, we will talk more about that later on.

2.Give Yourself Time - Unlock your Blackberry in advance, depending on your network, it can take up to 10 business days to unlock your phone. Specially for international networks outside North American. At the time this was written here are some examples for time periods. Rogers Blackberry Unlock (0-2 business days), Cingular Blackberry Unlock (1-2 business days), T Mobile Blackberry Unlock (1-3 business days), Vodafone UK Blackberry Unlock (1-3 business days), other networks vary, you need to check the Global Unlock website (fastest possible methods are only used)

3.GSM vs CDMA - Blackberry comes in two different technologies. You can only unlock GSM Blackberry (networks like Blackberry T Mobile Unlock, Blackberry Cingular Unlock, Blackberry Rogers Unlock, Blackberry Vodafone Unlock). You cannot unlock CDMA Blackberry (Sprint, Verizon, Bell, Telus). Outside North America 90% of networks are GSM and the success rate with our service is 95% to unlock blackberry phones. Blackberry has recently introduced Dual CDMA/GSM, at this time they come unlocked, however the frequency makes it so you can only use it oversea's.

4.How To Unlock? - When Unlocking, always use a unlock code - This method is the simplest and safest method to unlocking your phone. You can hook it up to servers, however with the design of the Blackberry we strongly prefer codes for two reasons. First, if you have a security password or IT password on your phone, you will need to remove it before unlocking. Second, using a proper unlock code, you cannot damage your phone, since there is nothing hooked up to your phone. I would suggest code is if want to pay less (take the risk of trouble) on older models. Newer Blackberry cannot be unlock by software.

5.What about a different SIM Cards? - Always make sure you know how you will get your foreign or new SIM card before you use it on another network. You can purchase it from a local store in the country you are going to use it. I suggest doing your research online, finding out which plan (pay as go most of the time) will fit you and order the SIM card for the website to mail it a address in the country of us. Buying in the store can cost up to $40, where online in many cases they will only charge you the shipping fee's (Example AT&T charges $30 in store and $6 shipped to a US address). This will save time and hassle when you get to where you will use the SIM card

6.Do You Need to Repeat Unlock Process? - If your phone is unlocked professionally it will not require a re-unlock even if you change the software. The only reason you would ever have to re-unlock it is if the hardware changes. I do get people who get codes from less trusted places, then come and ask for me to get certain features working. I cannot guarantee service since the earlier process has corrupted what I need to do, so it may not work. Get it done right immediately

7.Is Blackberry Unlock Support Needed?
- When unlocking a blackberry, they are in most cases pretty simple to unlock, however it is always suggest to use a professional unlocking blackberry service (company should be registered, long standing website, have a public phone # and email), so you can get support if you need it.

8.Why Use Remote Service? - If you take this to someone to do it, you are spending your time, paying more when you do not need to. I have made the offer to over 500 people in the past few years in Toronto, Canada. Come to me, pay double and leave it with me for a couple days or do it through the Global Unlock website. If you have an issue, then come and see me. I have had 1 person see me in 500, he was a taxi driver with no email address and it took me 45 seconds to unlock his phone. DO IT YOURSELF, I encourage people not to come in and see me if they want to and almost everyone agree and it happy once they see how easy it and they are supported on the Blackberry Unlock

9.Does Network Support Unlock Blackberry? - Make sure the network you want to use the unlock Blackberry on supports Blackberry Devices. I have included a list of all Blackberry networks, I tried to take out GSM, however please douvlec check. You can find this out by checking the network website and see if they sell GSM Blackberry. If they sell GSM Blackberry, they will support all Blackberry. If they do not, call customer support and ask if they support GSM Blackberry

10.What About Data Plan? - Blackberry use special data plans called Blackberry Connect. You cannot use a regular Data Plan for Blackberry functions

Now you are ready to unlock your Blackberry, geared with all the information you need to safely unlock your Blackberry device.

Top Reasons Why You Should Start Unlocking Your Blackberry Smart Phone

1) Unlocking your Blackberry allows you to utilize your phone's full potential. No longer would you be restricted to a single network provider, instead you could use any GSM network out there that is accepted by your phone that is now unlocked! Forget about being tied down to a single GSM provider, instead make use of all the networks around you to your benefit!

2) Travel with ease and convenience to any location in the world, and do not worry about your compatibility between your phone and local GSM networks. With this unlocking process completed, your Blackberry would be able to accept any GSM network within its range, and all you need is a prepaid SIM card with you, and you would be able to connect through the network in a relatively new country! Regular travelers would find the ability to connect to any GSM network within any country exceptionally beneficial, both in terms of convenience and cost-effectiveness.

3) The cost benefits are obvious as well, as you would be able to forget about roaming charges once you connect to local GSM networks. This alone would help you save in terms of cash, both in the short term and long term

4) One of the top reasons why you should proceed with this unlocking your Blackberry procedure is the fact that it is a completely legal process, and you are simply restoring your smart phone to its factory settings. Very few out there are aware of this fact, and thus fail to take advantage of the various benefits available when you have a fully unlocked smart phone with you. It is 100% legal as the phone is your property, and you have the liberty to do anything with your phone without any restriction

How to Unlock BlackBerry Phones?

Most people are unaware that Blackberry mobile phones can be easily unlocked by entering an Unlock Code (MEP2). When you are traveling abroad and going out of the coverage area of your cell phone service provider, it is better that you use another SIM card and switch over to a local network.
The cell phone software is so programmed that you can only unlock it by entering a special unlock code . This code is Known as Mobile Equipment Personalization Code (MEP).
If you search in google you will see many websites providing free Unlock codes, but all these codes are not genuine. By entering the wrong code, you will loose the number of attempts to unlock the phone. The maximum number of attempts to enter the MEP2 code is TEN.
Always remember " There is no free lunch"

So the best way to unlock your Blackberry is to buy unlock codes from a trusted vendor.
Search internet for mobile phone unlocking websites. You will come across a thousand websites who can do this. Choose which ever you like. Do look for price comparisons and the unlocking instructions.
Recheck the Model number- Network to which your phone is locked to and the IMEI number before placing an order. If you made any mistakes in these details these people will never give you a refund!!
One more thing, before placing an order ask them about the conditions for getting a full refund in the case of a code failure! Think and make a wise decision.
I have personally bought the code for my Blackberry Storm from unlockgenie.com. It is because they have good reviews on most of the mobile phone forums. I got my phone unlocked successfully from that website. I think their codes don't fail. The web link for the above mentioned web site is http://unlockgenie.com/
